As the title suggests, this is the 3rd volume (and final) in Dale’s
Frontier Memories books based on the Draper papers. Frontier Memories
III contains additional interviews of pioneers conducted by Rev.
John D. Shane in the early and mid 1800’s. These interviews describe
the hardships, adventures and various aspects of pioneer life on
the 18th and early 19th century frontier. These little details of
pioneer life can be found nowhere else, except here and in the Draper
Manuscripts.
This book also includes a revised and expanded edition of the original
Frontier Memories (2002) which is out of print. The author strives
to present you with the most important and interesting stories especially
for those searching for facts and information on everyday life of
the American pioneer. This is all first person interviews allowing
you to enter the 18th century through the stories of the everyday
folks who lived then.
