Description:

Wayne writes, "a collector contacted me about restoring an original tomahawk head in his collection. The head turned out to be nearly an exact duplicate of the famous "Angstadt" tomahawk. This one was missing the handle and had a brass inlay on one side of the blade with a Log Cabin engraved, and on the other side a brass inlay with F. HOFF engraved in script. I did restore the head for him and made a handle that followed the spirit of the head including a frontiersman holding a rifle instead of an indian holding a tomahawk. On this "Hoff" tomahawk I included an inlay with a copy of an Angstadt rifle. This copy is as close as possible to the original.".

Dimensions & Price:

Entire length of pipehawk: 23"
Length of handle only: 20"
Blade length: 4" long. 4" wide
Top of pipe to blade edge: 8"
Price - $3,000.00

About the Artist:

Wayne Watson grew up reading books about the early frontier. His discovery as a youngster of a muzzleloader in his grandmother's attic sparked his lifelong interest and mastery of building 18th century Kentucky Rifles. He tries to reproduce exact copies of the master pieces of our Colonial period as they would look coming from the benches of the original gunstock makers. It was Wayne who built the Kill-Deer rifle for Daniel-Day Lewis in the 1992 film Last of the Mohicans. Wayne is also highly respected for his presentation style pipe tomahawks, all with beautiful woods, inlaid silver wire, and custom-built steel/brass heads.
