| Pocket Compass Incorporating a sprung lid which pops open at the press of a button, the Dalvey Compass incorporates a quality liquid filled capsule. Designed to fit comfortably in the hand and slip conveniently into any pocket, the compass is an essential companion that can be taken anywhere. The magnetic compass is an old Chinese invention dating back to 200 B.C. Until this century the pocket compass was airfilled, in which the magnet needle moved rapidly and erratically. However in the 1930's a Finnish surveyor named Tuomas Vohlon had the revolutionary idea of filling the compass capsule with oil.
