| Richard Headley (1927-2008), was a sea captain and the last Santa Barbara (CA) sealer before the passage of the Marine Mammal Act in 1972. Prior to capturing and selling seals to zoos, Headley served in the merchant marines during WWII and in the army during the Korean War. He later became an acoomplshed portrait artist. | ||
